Position Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Ultrasound Technician specializing in Obstetrics and Gynecology (OB/GYN) to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for performing high-quality ultrasound examinations that aid in the diagnosis and monitoring of obstetric and gynecologic conditions. The technician will work closely with physicians and medical staff to deliver exceptional patient care in a professional and empathetic environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform routine and specialized OB/GYN ultrasound examinations, including transabdominal and transvaginal scans.
- Capture and analyze images of the uterus, ovaries, cervix, fetus, placenta, and amniotic fluid.
- Assess fetal development, position, heartbeat, and overall well-being throughout pregnancy.
- Prepare patients for ultrasound procedures by explaining the process, answering questions, and ensuring comfort.
- Maintain accurate patient records and document diagnostic data for physician review.
- Collaborate with OB/GYN physicians to determine diagnostic results and discuss findings.
- Ensure proper calibration, cleaning, and maintenance of ultrasound equipment.
- Adhere to all HIPAA regulations and ensure strict confidentiality of patient health information.
- Follow protocols and safety standards to minimize patient exposure and ensure accurate diagnostics.
- Assist with scheduling, image archiving, and reporting within electronic health record (EHR) systems.
Qualifications:
- Certification: Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS) with OB/GYN specialty preferred.
- Education: Graduate of an accredited diagnostic medical sonography program.
- Experience: 1–2 years of OB/GYN ultrasound experience preferred.
- Skills: Excellent communication, patient care, and technical imaging skills.
- Proficiency in operating ultrasound equipment and working within EMR/EHR systems.
- Knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and pathology related to women’s health and pregnancy.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work in fast-paced, high-volume environments.
