Job summary

Medical City Alliance is seeking an Ultrasound Tech for a full-time, day-shift role (Thu-Sat 6:45a-7:15p). The Ultrasound Tech conducts diagnostic ultrasound procedures, explains procedures to patients, and assists with biopsies, while maintaining equipment and documentation.

The role requires a technical degree or vocational training and RDMS licensure within 6 months of hire. Preferred at least 1 year of experience and BLS from an HCA-approved vendor.

Qualifications

• Registered by RDMS in Abdomen or Ob/Gyn within 6 months of hire.
• BLS certification from an HCA approved vendor.

Responsibilities

• Performs diagnostic ultrasound procedures using prescribed methods.
• Adjusts transducers and equipment settings according to study requirements.
• Explains procedures to patients and answers questions.
• Records test data and patient information in the computer system.
• Assists physicians with ultrasound-guided biopsies and invasive procedures.
• Maintains and calibrates ultrasound equipment.
• Communicates patient information using computerized documentation systems.
• Mentors new staff and ensures patient safety during procedures.

Job Summary and Qualifications

The Ultrasound Tech conducts procedures to provide data toassistin the diagnosis of patients. The positions tasks and responsibilities include:

• Performs diagnostic procedures applying prescribed methods of ultrasound technique.
• Selectstransducerand adjusts equipment controls according toorganto be examined, depth of field and other specifications of test.
• Explainsprocedures to patients andaddressestheir concerns.
• Keys test data and patient information into computer to maintain record of test results.
• Assistsphysician with ultrasound guided biopsies and/or invasive procedures.
• Maintains and calibrates equipment.
• Monitors, records and communicates asappropriate utilizingcomputerized documentation systems.
• Utilizes knowledge of age specific needs ofpatientin performance of duties and responsibilities.
• Orients and mentorsnew staffmembers.
• Provides a safe environment for administering contrast material.
• Assistswith transporting patients.
• Follows Standard Precautions using personal protective equipment asrequired.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Ability to work with minimal supervision.
• Ability to make independent decisions whilemaintainingtact,maturityand a positive attitude.Initiative and judgmentrequiredin assuming responsibilities.
• Performs high-level disinfection.

• Registered by R.D.M.S. in Abdomen or Ob/Gyn within 6 months of hire, promotion or completion of training program.
• Registered by R.D.M.S (RVT) or (RVS) by C.C.I.
• BLS from HCA approved vendor required.
