Job summary

RadNet is seeking an Ultrasound Technologist to provide high-quality ultrasound exams in a clinical setting in New York, Buffalo. You will assist radiologists with ultrasound-guided biopsies and learn to operate ultrasound equipment while ensuring patient comfort and safety.

The role requires ARDMS certification or registry-eligibility preferred, SPI exam completed, and BLS certification. Candidates should demonstrate strong communication, professionalism, and the ability to manage fast-paced

Responsibilities

  • Perform high quality ultrasound procedures in accordance with department policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Assist radiologists with ultrasound-guided biopsies and procedures as needed.
  • Understand ultrasound data generation and instrument operation.
  • Monitor patient wellbeing during exams and respond to discomfort or medical problems as needed.
  • Safeguard patient information and protect privacy of PHI.
  • Safeguard on-site medications according to policies and legal requirements.
  • Demonstrate professionalism toward patients and coworkers.
  • Respect patient boundaries and cultural sensitivities during interactions.
  • Interact with patients, families, and the public in a clinical setting.
  • Establish, nurture, and maintain cooperative working relationships.

Job description

Responsibilities
  • Perform high quality ultrasound procedures in strict accordance with currently approved practices as outlined in department policy and procedure manuals, complying with all applicable federal, state, local and other regulatory requirements.
  • Assist radiologists with ultrasound-guided biopsies and procedures if needed.
  • Understand the methods used to generate ultrasound data and the theory and operation of the instruments that detect, display, and store the acoustic information generated in clinical examinations.
  • Monitor patient's well‑being during exams; recognize patient discomfort or medical problems and take appropriate action.
  • Demonstrate competency regarding the need to safeguard patient property and Patient Health Information.
  • Safeguard any on‑site medications in accordance with company policies, procedures and any legal requirements.
  • Demonstrate respect for company property, including any cash and patient financial information on site or on patient portals.
  • Be responsive to the needs of others by exhibiting and maintaining professional behavior toward patients and coworkers.
  • Demonstrate respect for patient boundaries and cultural sensitivities during all interactions.
  • Interact diplomatically and sympathetically with patients, their families, and the public in a clinical setting.
  • Establish, nurture, and maintain cooperative working relationships.
Qualifications
  • Passionate about patient care and exercise sound judgment and an ability to remain professional in all situations.
  • Demonstrate effective and professional communication, interpersonal skills, and respect with patients, guests & colleagues.
  • Have a structured work approach, understand complex problems and be able to prioritize work in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Completed an Ultrasound Technologist program with a diploma.
  • Passed the SPI exam.
  • Current ARDMS certifications or ARDMS Registry‑eligible preferred.
  • Have BLS certification.

Pay Range: $38.00 - $60.00 per hour.
