Job description

Our client in western Massachusetts is seeking an Ultrasound Technician that to join their growing Urology imaging team. Will perform a wide variety of technical procedures, requiring independent judgment and ingenuity. Responsibilities of the Ultrasound Technician:

  • Must be proficient in Abdominal, Pelvic, and Obstetrical, dvt studies of arms and legs and obtaining images using portable equipment.
  • Knowledgeable in sterile technique and setting up sterile trays; practices infection control and body substance isolation per OSHA standards.
  • Capable of functioning independently and proficiently in a high-stress, work-intensive environment, including moving and lifting patients and equipment.
  • Able to stand/walk for up to 6 hours per 8-hour shift and lift up to 100 lbs intermittently throughout the shift.
  • Skilled in operating and troubleshooting PACS, HIS, and RIS computer systems; attends mandatory education and maintains department competencies.
  • Demonstrates proper patient care according to departmental and hospital policies, ensuring patient confidentiality and complying with safety standards.

Minimum Requirements for the Ultrasound Tech position:

  • Graduation from an approved Diagnostic Medical Sonography school
  • ARDMS/ARRT(S) Certified
  • MALIC - Mass Radiology License
  • Two (2) years of experience
  • Urology outpatient setting
