St. Joseph’s University Medical Center in Paterson, NJ is seeking a full-time Ultrasound Technician to perform routine sonographic exams in inpatient and outpatient settings, adhering to protocols for positioning, image quality, and ALARA principles.

You will work with echocardiography and general ultrasound, maintain patient records, and contribute to department excellence through precise technique and clear patient communication.

Qualifications

• Two to three years of occupationally specific education beyond high school or an Associate’s degree in Ultrasound technology or a closely related field.
• ARDMS registration or CCI certificate required within 12 months of hire.
• RDMS registration or Cardiovascular Credentialing International Certification required within 12 months in the specific modality.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine sonographic examinations in inpatient and outpatient settings per protocols.
• Maintain image quality and proper positioning while adhering to ALARA principles.
• Enter patient data into hospital databases and communicate findings to physicians.

Utilizes a variety of specialized equipment to produce sonographic images, as well as computers and various software programs to enter patient related information into hospital databases.
