Job summary

Job description

Mississippi Urology Clinic - Jackson / Flowood, MS has an immediate need for a PRN Ultrasound Technician to join their team!
Responsibilities
  • Operate ultrasound equipment to produce and record images of various areas of the body.
  • Interpret and analyze diagnostic images to provide preliminary findings for physicians.
  • Maintain patient records, reports, and other administrative tasks.
  • Monitor screen during scan to ensure that the image produced is satisfactory for diagnostic purposes.
  • Adjust equipment controls as per the physician's order to capture a clear image.
  • Maintain ultrasound equipment and sterilize the room in which the procedure takes place.
  • Determine whether scope of exam should be extended, based on findings.
  • Consult with physicians and other healthcare professionals.
Knowledge
  • Ultrasound Technician, or Sonographer, must possess a blend of technical proficiency, attention to detail, and excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Understanding of human anatomy, medical terminology, and the operation of sophisticated medical equipment.
  • Ability to empathize with patients, ensure patient comfort and communicate effectively is equally crucial.
  • Proficiency in operating ultrasound equipment.
  • Ability to interpret ultrasound images.
  • Familiarity with patient management systems.
  • Knowledge of safety and sanitation standards.
  • Ability to perform minor maintenance on ultrasound equipment.
