Job summary

Medical University of South Carolina is seeking a PRN Ultrasound Tech to operate ultrasound equipment for diagnostic imaging. The successful candidate will produce images of organs and tissues while ensuring patient safety and comfort.

This role requires a graduate of an accredited Ultrasound program with 3-5 years of experience preferred. The position offers the opportunity to work with a skilled medical team in Florence, SC, and comes with state health and retirement benefits.

Qualifications

Job Description

Operates ultrasonic equipment to produce images of the body's organs and tissues for diagnostic purposes. Performs sonographic examinations to locate, evaluate and record critical functional, pathological, and anatomical data. Records test results, inspects and maintains equipment, and orders supplies when needed. Reviews physician requisition orders and instructions concerning patient preparation for ultrasound procedure. May communicate to OB/GYN nursing team status of patient condition pre and post procedure. Performs ultrasound imaging for fetal diagnosis and anomaly detection for patients with high‑risk indications.

Education

Graduate of an approved and accredited Ultrasound program

Experience

• 3-5 years of experience in US preferred.
• Position may require some overtime, on call responsibilities, and ability to coordinate several activities simultaneously.

Licenses/Certificates

• Current American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (ARRT) or ARDMS registered, or registry eligible/obtained within one year of hire.
• CPR certification required.
