Job summary

Surgery Partners, Inc. is seeking a qualified ultrasound technologist to perform ultrasound procedures under the supervision of the Director of Human Resources and Imaging.

The role spans pediatric to geriatric patients, ensuring quality care while maintaining equipment and safety standards. Candidates should have ARRT registration or be registry eligible, hold BLS certification, and demonstrate strong English communication and teamwork.

Qualifications

  • BLS certification required and renewed every 2 years.

  • Adherence to applicable standards and policies.

Responsibilities

  • Perform ultrasound procedures under supervision across pediatric to geriatric patients.
  • Assist in other Imaging and related areas as needed.
  • Maintain ultrasound equipment and ensure proper care and safety.
  • Provide quality care and professional appearance, maintaining patient confidentiality.

Job description

Job Summary

Under the supervision of the Director of Human Resources and Imaging, performs ultrasound procedures and assists in other areas while assuring proper care and maintenance of all equipment. Provides quality care within the scope of Ultrasound for pediatric thru geriatric patients, in a manner that is cost effective without compromising quality of care. Demonstrates good knowledge of principles and practices of procedural technique. Demonstrates knowledge of equipment, procedures and positions used for various procedures. Able to work under pressure and in situations that demand patience, tact, stamina and endurance. Projects a professional demeanor and appearance while maintaining the confidentiality of patients, physicians and workers with excellent customer service skills. Must be willing to take call for your position as assigned by manager. All other duties as assigned.

Physical Requirements

May be expected to lift up to 50 pounds or up to 150 pounds with assistance. May be expected to push or pull up to 500 pounds with assistance. Work is of medium demand; walking or standing most of the time while on duty. Visual and auditory acuity and manual dexterity essential to performing designated duties required. Optimal auditory acuity required. Manual dexterity involving the handling of equipment and instruments or needles is essential to performing assigned duties. Physical work environments are clean, neat and well lit. May be subjected to unpleasant sights and odors, stressful situations and hazardous or infectious agents where judgment as to precautions that need to be taken is essential. Climate control and ambient temperature variances may be experienced and required by patient care and needs of the surgical team. Exposure to limited amounts of radiation, hazardous chemicals or substances and infectious disease processes are a possibility. Hours of duty may be irregular or unexpectedly extended due to the requirements of the daily schedule.

OSHA Exposure Classification

Job Classification I. Direct contact with blood or other body fluids to which universal precautions apply. Personal protective equipment is made available and must be worn.

Qualifications, Knowledge & Ability
  • Demonstrates eligibility for employment in the U.S.
  • Registered with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists, preferred.
  • Registered with the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers or registry eligible.
  • Must have BLS and renew every 2 years prior to expiration.
  • Ability to relate and work effectively with others
  • Demonstrated skills in verbal and written English communications for safe and effective patient care and to meet documentation standards.
  • Willingness to participate in goal-setting and educational activities for own professional advancement.
  • Is aware of standards and performs in accordance with them.
