Job Summary
The Ultrasound Technologist, under supervision of a Radiologist or physician, performs ultrasound procedures in ambulatory and hospital settings for diagnosing disease and injury according to protocols.
Essential Functions of the Role
- Performs high-quality ultrasound procedures according to exam protocol in a timely manner, maintaining production and quality standards.
- Uses AIDET to communicate with patients, identifies service needs, ensures correct exam on the correct patient, and establishes rapport.
- Prepares the patient and area, positions the patient, and adjusts equipment controls.
- Follows safety, infection-control, drug, and radiation policies; uses sterile techniques for invasive procedures; maintains hygiene.
- Maintains equipment and work area, reports issues, manages supplies, and screens individuals entering the department.
- Documents all relevant information accurately and timely, including requisitions, patient history, and consent forms.
- Follows policies related to PACS, EMR, image exchange, and record management.
- Maintains medical imaging records according to department standards.

Qualifications
- High School Diploma/GED.
- Certifications including ARRT-BS, ARRT-S, MSK, RDMS, RVS, RVT, or equivalent, with specific registries listed.
- BLS certification within 30 days of hire or transfer.
