Job summary

Baptist Health is seeking an Ultrasound Tech for PRN, as-needed hospital ultrasound coverage in Kentucky. The role involves performing diverse ultrasound exams to assist physicians in diagnoses and patient monitoring, ensuring patient safety and comfort during procedures.

Qualified candidates have an ARDMS registration or registry eligibility, with 12 months of clinical ultrasound experience in most criteria. BLS is preferred and expected within 90 days of hire.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree in an Allied Health field including diagnostic medical sonography or related programs with 12 months of ultrasound/vascular experience.
• Diploma/degree from an ARDMS-accredited ultrasound/vascular program (CAAHEP or CMA acceptance).
• Bachelor's degree with 12 months ultrasound/vascular experience or a dedicated sonography/vascular technology degree.
• ARDMS registration or registry eligibility required within 6 months of eligibility.
• BLS certification preferred; required within 90 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Performs a variety of ultrasound examinations to assist physicians in diagnosis and monitoring.
• Maintains patient safety and comfort during imaging procedures.
• documents findings and communicates with radiologists and physicians.

Summary Job Description: Ultrasound Tech - Hospital Ultrasound PRN - As needed/Varied Shift

Job Description: The Ultrasound Tech performs a variety of ultrasound examinations to assist physicians in diagnosing medical conditions and monitoring patient health.

Requirements:

1. Associate's degree in Allied Health education program (diagnostic medical sonography, radiologic technology, respiratory therapy, occupational therapy, physical therapy, nursing) and 12 months of full-time clinical ultrasound/vascular experience; or 2. Diploma or degree from an ultrasound/vascular program that is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) or the Canadian Medical Association (CMA); or 3. Bachelor's degree (any major) and 12 months of full-time clinical ultrasound/vascular experience; or 4. Bachelor's degree in sonography or vascular technology; or higher.
2. Registered or registry eligible by the American Registry of Medical Sonographers (ARDMS).
3. Completion of ARDMS Registry within six months of eligibility required.
4. BLS preferred upon hire, required within 90 days of hire.

Preferred Qualifications: Prior experience working as an Ultrasound Technologist in a hospital or medical imaging facility preferred. Additional certification in specialized ultrasound modalities (e.g., abdominal, obstetric, vascular) preferred.
