Job Summary

Provides quality ultrasound studies including abdominal, OB, vascular, neonatal, pelvis, breast, and testicular small parts for radiologist diagnosis. Maintains appropriate files, supplies, and equipment.

Essential Functions

1. Performs sonographic examinations and procedures as requested by the referring physician.
2. Maintains supplies and a clean, organized work area. Notifies supervisor of needed items.
3. Ensures equipment is maintained for accuracy and longevity.
4. Provides age-appropriate care to all patients.
5. Acts as a consultant and educational resource for scan accuracy and appropriateness.

Job Requirements

Minimum Education

Graduate of Diagnostic Medical Sonography Program or School of Radiology.

Required Skills

Requires critical thinking, decisive judgment, and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must handle stressful environments appropriately.

Certifications

Basic Life Support (BLS) within 30 days of hire.

Required Licenses

[West Virginia, United States] Other

Graduate from an accredited DMS program OR ARRT OR DMS Certification.

Minimum Work Experience

Ability to learn advanced ultrasound procedures. ARRT candidates should have at least one year of DMS experience (preferred).
