Job summary

Advocate Health in Macon, GA seeks a Diagnostic Medical Sonographer to examine requests, verify orders, and assist radiologists in invasive procedures while delivering high-quality imaging and compassionate patient care.

Qualified candidates have ARDMS or ARRT(S) licensure with AB or OB/GYN registries and BLS, plus completion of an accredited ultrasound program. The role requires physical effort typical of imaging departments and attention to safety and accuracy.

Qualifications

• Graduate of a comprehensive medical diagnostic ultrasound program required in Diagnostic Medical Sonography or General Ultrasound.
• BLS certification is required.
• Licensure/registration: ARDMS or ARRT (S); AB or OB/GYN registries required.

Responsibilities

• Examines requests and verifies orders on each assigned patient.
• Assists Radiologist in performing invasive procedures.
• Evaluates technical quality of exam and develops diverse technique for efficiency.
• Reports malfunctioning equipment to supervisor or engineer.
• Operates the Radiology computer system to enter and charge exams and supplies.
• Maintains work area neatly and stocked.
• Adheres to departmental rules and conducts professional duties.
