Job summary

Carson Valley Health in Gardnerville, NV is seeking a Per Diem Ultrasound Technician to perform diagnostic ultrasound examinations for physician evaluation and treatment. You will review patient records, explain procedures, and ensure high quality imaging across modalities.

Minimum requirements include graduation from an accredited imaging program and current BLS certification; ARDMS or ARRT certifications are preferred. Per diem status offers flexible scheduling with a 15% hourly rate premium.

POSITION SUMMARY:

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

• Graduate of accredited imaging based school.

Certification required:

• Current BLS certification required.

Certification preferred:

• ARDMS – American Registered Diagnostic Sonographer Registered or completed within 6 months of eligibility.

OR

• ARRT – American Registry Radiologic Technologist with certification in sonography RT (R) (S).


• Ability to communicate with employees, physicians, patients and administrative staff in a courteous and professional manner.

POSITION ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Review medical records for patient history and supporting clinical data.


• Explain procedure to patient; provide patient care, support, comfort, safety and confidentiality.


• Select equipment and imaging modalities, position and prep, to facilitate optimum diagnostic studies.


• Perform all ultrasound techniques and examinations offered at this facility.


• Display a broad knowledge of cross-sectional anatomy and pathology to obtain optin1al studies.


• Select and record preliminary study results on work sheet.


• Make pertinent measurements and label.


• Direct study to Radiologist for interpretation.


• Consult with Radiologist about unusual scans and assist with interpretation.


• Provide written unofficial reports and worksheets of examination.

• Maintain ultrasonography equipment. Recognize malfunctions and need for servicing. Ensure quality control procedures are maintained. Order department supplies.
