UMVC in Troy, OH seeks a dedicated Ultrasound Technologist to independently perform diagnostic ultrasound procedures and related interventional work.

You will coordinate patient flow, maintain equipment, and support the Radiology team with on-call duties when required.

Formación

• Associate degree or equivalent in Sonography/Allied Health.
• RVT or RVS certification (ARDMS/ARRT options acceptable).
• CPR certification within 30 days of hire.
• Two of Abdomen, OB/GYN, MSK, Breast ARDMS/ARRT options acceptable, with RVT/RVS within 6 months if needed.

Responsabilidades

• Perform diagnostic ultrasound procedures with quality imaging.
• Gather clinical history for correlation with US exams.
• Perform daily/weekly QC per protocol.
• Maintain sterile technique where required.
• Assist Radiologist in procedures and emergencies.
• Coordinate patient care to optimize time and satisfaction.

Title: Ultrasound Technologist Multi - Hosp (6064)

Unit: Ultrasaound

Hours: Days( 8 hour shifts)

Status: Part -Time

Facility: UMVC

Position Summary

Independently performs diagnostic ultrasound procedures and ultrasound directed interventional procedures utilizing proper techniques and protocols. Works under their scope of practice and in accordance with registry in the operation of equipment. Coordinates patient flow and the activities of the Ultrasound Department. Exercises professional judgment in the performance of duties in order to maintain equipment in good working condition. May perform procedures in other imaging modalities based on departmental needs. May have on call responsibilities.

Essential Duties & Functions

• Performs US procedures of diagnostic quality as ordered by the referring physician and/or radiologist on patients of all ages according to established protocols and evaluates Ultrasound studies for technical image quality.
• Obtains clinical history and data for correlation with the US procedure.
• Performs daily and weekly QC as required.
• Practices sterile technique as required.
• Assists Radiologist in special procedures and in performing medical treatment during emergency situations.
• Coordinates patient care with other areas in order to optimize patient time and satisfaction
• Assesses learning needs and educates patients/families regarding procedures based on individual needs. Thoroughly educates patients about exam.
• Ensures that all records, files and reports are properly recorded as required, performs clerical duties when necessary, verifies a signed physician order is received and corresponds with the billed procedure.
• Maintains knowledge of the locations and operation of all emergency equipment in the unit.
• Follows radiation safety policies and procedures.

EDUCATION REQUIRED

• Associate’s degree or graduate of an accredited program
• Allied Health/Sonography

REGISTRY AND CERTIFICATION REQUIRED

• 1. RVT (ARDMS-American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers) or RVS (Cardiac Credentialing Institute)
• 2. One of the following (ARDMS/ARRT): Abdomen, OB/GYN, MSK, Breast
• 3. CPR certification required within 30 days of hire
• OR
• 1. Two of the following (ARDMS/ARRT): Abdomen, OB/GYN, MSK, Breast
• 2. RVT (ARDMS-American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers) or RVS (Cardiac Credentialing Institute) within 6 months of hire
• 3. CPR certification required within 30 days of hire

EXPERIENCE:

• Minimum Level of Experience Required: No prior job-related work experience
• Preferred experience: 2 years of experience in Ultrasound

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS:

• Proficient in performing diagnostic procedures and obtaining diagnostic images for physician interpretation
• Proficient in Electronic Medical Record (EMR)
• Proficient in Radiology Information System (RIS) and Image Storage
