Job summary

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Diagnostic Medical Sonography program or equivalent experience.
• Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS) in AB and OB/GYN.
• BART or BLS at hire with commitment to obtain BART within six months.
• Two years of relevant clinical experience.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Demonstrated computer skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform and record all sonographic procedures according to departmental guidelines.
• Operate ultrasound equipment, transducers and recording devices.
• Recognize normal and pathological conditions and adjust exams accordingly.
• Prepare and position patients using established protocols for quality imaging.
• Review and evaluate images to ensure high quality results.
• Troubleshoot PACS issues and participate in improvement projects.
• Float within department and assist mentoring of junior staff and students.
• Assist other ultrasound technologists with complex procedures.
