Job summary

The Premier Health seeks an Ultrasound Tech-Multi to independently perform diagnostic ultrasound procedures and related interventional procedures in the Ultrasound Department at Miami Valley North. The role may include on-call responsibilities and requires strict adherence to protocols and quality standards.

Candidates should hold an Associate degree in Ultrasonography or Allied Health and be credentialed (ARDMS/ARRT) with RVT.Registered vascular credentials are required or must be obtained

Qualifications

• Associate degree in Allied Health with Ultrasonography major.
• ARDMS or ARRT ultrasound credential required.
• Vascular credential (RVT) required or within 6 months after hire at specified locations.
• BLS certification within 30 days of hire.
• 2 years ultrasound experience preferred, not required.

Responsibilities

• Perform diagnostic ultrasound procedures per established protocols.
• Coordinate patient flow and activities in the Ultrasound Department.
• May have on-call responsibilities.
• Maintain ultrasound equipment in good working condition.
• May perform procedures in other imaging modalities as needed.

Position Summary

General Summary/Responsibilities: Independently performs diagnostic ultrasound procedures and ultrasound directed interventional procedures utilizing proper techniques and protocols. Works under their scope of practice and in accordance with registry in the operation of equipment. Coordinates patient flow and the activities of the Ultrasound Department. Exercises professional judgment in the performance of duties in order to maintain equipment in good working condition. May perform procedures in other imaging modalities based on departmental needs. May have on call responsibilities.

Education

Minimum Level of Education Required: Associate degree

Additional requirements:

• Preferred educational qualifications: Associate degree or graduate of an accredited program

Licensure/Certification/Registration

Credentialed in Ultrasound technology by one of the following (required):

• American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS)
• Sonographer by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT)

Vascular Credentialed by one of the following (required):

• ARDMS- Registered Vascular Technologist (RVT)
• CCI (RVS), Cardiovascular Credentialing International, Registered Vascular Specialist

Vascular registry is required at time of hire except at the following locations, where it must be obtained no later than 6 months after hire, AMC, MVH, MVHS, MVHN, and UVMC main campuses.

Minimum of one additional registry in practiced specialties are required as approved by ARDMS: Abdomen, OB/GYN, MSK, Breast or Vascular

BLS Certification required within 30 days of hire

Experience

Minimum Level of Experience Required: No prior job-related work experience

Preferred experience: 2 years of experience in Ultrasound

Knowledge/Skills

• Proficient in performing diagnostic procedures and obtaining diagnostic images for physician interpretation
• Proficient in Electronic Medical Record (EMR)
• Proficient in Radiology Information System (RIS) and Image Storage
