Job summary

Dignity Health Medical Foundation in California seeks an Ultrasound Technologist (Sonographer) to perform detailed sonographic imaging, including obstetric scans. You will interact with patients, explain procedures, and ensure comfort and safety while acquiring high-quality images for physicians.

Required AMA ultrasound program completion or equivalent, with relevant certifications and BLS; one year experience preferred.

Qualifications

• High School Graduate or GED General Studies.
• AMA school of Ultrasound Technology or equivalent.
• One of: RDM Sonographer, RDCS, CVT, etc.
• BLS CPR certification.

Responsibilities

• Interact with patients, explain procedures and prepare them for scans.
• Operate sonographic equipment and adjust settings for diagnostic images.
• Monitor patient safety and comfort during procedures.
• Select and examine images, present preliminary findings to physicians.

Job Summary And Responsibilities

As our Ultrasound Technologist (Sonographer), you will utilize advanced sonographic equipment to record detailed images of blood, organs, tissues, and bodily masses, including unborn fetuses, providing critical visual data for diagnosis and prenatal care. This position is represented by SEIU-UHW.

Every day you will directly interact with patients, explaining procedures, answering questions, and preparing them for scans. You will meticulously operate sonographic equipment, adjusting settings and patient positions to ensure clear, diagnostic images. You will monitor and care for patients to ensure their safety and comfort, select and examine images for pathologies, and present preliminary findings to Physicians.

Job Requirements

Required

• High School Graduate or GED General Studies
• Satisfactory completion of a formal AMA school of Ultrasound Technology or equivalent to an AMA Technologic program. Determination made by CHWMFH.R. department in conjunction with the American Diagnostic Medical Sonographers
• One of the following: Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer, Registered Cardiac Electr, Registered Cardiac Sonographer CCI, Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer, Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer Adult Echo, Registered Technologist Vascular Sonography, or Registered Vascular Technologist
• Basic Life Support - CPR (AHA BLS)

Preferred

• One (1) year experience as an Ultrasound Technician is preferred
• Six (6) months experience in Abdomen, OB, Vascular, small parts environment is preferred
