Job summary

Mercy in Fort Smith, AR seeks an Advanced Sonographer to proficiently operate ultrasound imaging equipment and software, supporting diagnosis and treatment while ensuring patient safety and imaging quality. You will lead when supervision isn’t available and act as a trusted resource for colleagues.

Education: graduate of a school of Sonography with required clinical hours; minimum 2 years of experience; ARDMS/ARRT/CCI certifications and BLS. State licensure may apply.

Qualifications

  • Education: graduate of a school of Sonography and completed required clinical hours.
  • Experience: 2 years of relevant experience.
  • Licensure/registries: ARDMS/ARRT/CCI and 3 applicable registries/certifications within the applicable work area OR 2 applicable registries/certifications within the applicable work area and 5 years of applicable experience; Basic Life Support (BLS).
  • In Arkansas state, ARDMS-RVT OR CCI-RVS OR ARRT-VS may be required within 12 months of hire/transfer.

In the state of Arkansas, ARDMS-RVT OR CCI-RVS OR ARRT-VS may be required within 12 months of hire and/or transfer depending on scope of role.

  • Ability to lead and motivate a team, manage schedules, and coordinate daily operations.
  • Strong decision-making and conflict resolution skills.
  • Thorough understanding of protocols and ability to make adjustments as needed.
  • Knowledge in proficiency producing diagnostic images with the ability to recognize technical abnormalities.
  • Knowledge of advanced procedures and/or invasive procedures, if applicable
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow complex instructions.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
  • Flexibility to handle multiple tasks and adapt to changing priorities.
  • Knowledge of quality assurance protocols and accreditation standards.
Physical Requirements
  • Position requires the ability to push, pull, and/or lift 50 lbs. on a regular basis.
  • Position requires prolonged standing and walking during each shift.
  • Position requires the ability to grip, reach, bend, kneel, twist, and squat to perform duties.
