Job summary

Mercy is seeking a Sonographer for the Imaging Department in Festus, MO. You will operate ultrasound equipment and ensure high-quality images to support patient diagnoses and treatment plans.

Responsibilities include maintaining patient safety, communicating with patients and clinicians, and collaborating within a fast-paced team to deliver outstanding imaging services. ARDMS/ARRT/CCI certifications and BLS are preferred, with licensure dependent on state requirements.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of Sonography with required clinical hours.
• 1 year of relevant Sonography experience.
• Licensure may be required by state; ARDMS/ARRT/CCI certifications and BLS preferred.

The Sonographer operates imaging equipment and software, mostly ultrasound equipment, to assist in the diagnosis and treatment of patients. This role requires proficiency in operating imaging equipment, ensuring patient safety, and maintaining high-quality imaging standards. The Sonographer position also requires a strong commitment to patient care, technical expertise, and collaborative communication with patients and healthcare professionals to provide optimal care.

Hours/Schedule

Full time

Education: Graduate of an accredited school of Sonography and completed required clinical hours.

Experience: One (1) year of relevant experience

License: State licensure may be required depending on the specific state of practice.

Certifications/Registrations: ARDMS/ARRT/CCI and 2 applicable advanced registries/certifications within the applicable work area; Basic Life Support (BLS)

• Knowledge of machine emergency procedures and radiation safety procedures.

• Flexibility to handle multiple tasks and adapt to changing priorities.

Physical Requirements:

• Position requires the ability to push, pull, and/or lift 50 lbs. on a regular basis.
• Position requires prolonged standing and walking during each shift.
• Position requires the ability to grip, reach, bend, kneel, twist, and squat to perform duties.
