Job Overview

This position performs prescribed Sonography procedures at a technical level that does not require constant supervision. The role involves performing a variety of technical procedures that require independent judgment and initiative.

Responsibilities
  1. Imaging Procedures: Positions patients, performs imaging, analyzes results, and addresses image quality issues. Enters, transmits, and reports scan results. (50%)
  2. Patient Interaction: Reviews patient history and physician's orders. Educates patients about procedures, equipment, and exams to ensure understanding and cooperation. (20%)
  3. Contrast Media/Medications: Prepares and administers contrast media or medications within scope of practice. Monitors patient condition and reports changes. (15%)
  4. Equipment Preparation and Safety: Prepares equipment, selects exposure factors, implements safety standards, performs quality control, and troubleshoots equipment issues. (15%)
  5. Additional Duties: Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Minimum
  • Associate’s degree or equivalent, or 6 months to 1 year relevant experience/education.
  • RDMS or equivalent certification, with specific registrations required within 12 months of hire.
  • CPR (American Heart Association), background checks (Act 34, 33, 73).
Preferred
  • Prior sonography experience.
