Job summary

Presbyterian Healthcare Services is seeking an Ultrasound Specialist to perform a broad range of diagnostic ultrasound and vascular imaging exams in a dynamic imaging team. You will work with radiologists and interdisciplinary teams, assist with ultrasound-guided procedures, and contribute to quality, safety, and continuous learning in a patient-centered approach.

The ideal candidate holds an accredited Diagnostic Medical Sonography education, ARDMS registry eligibility, and BLS certification,

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Diagnostic Medical Sonography program (associate degree, diploma, or equivalent).
• ARDMS registry eligible at time of hire; must obtain two ARDMS registries within two years.
• Current BLS certification required.

Responsibilities

• Perform a variety of diagnostic ultrasound and vascular imaging procedures, including carotid duplex, arterial and venous Doppler studies of upper and lower extremities, abdominal aorta duplex imaging, groin studies, and ABI testing.
• Assess patients, review histories, and correlate findings to ensure appropriate imaging studies.
• Obtain and evaluate high-quality diagnostic images, document measurements, and prepare technical summaries for interpretation.
• Recognize normal/abnormal findings, identify artifacts, and communicate urgent findings.
• Educate patients regarding procedures and maintain patient comfort and dignity.
• Assist physicians with ultrasound-guided procedures while maintaining sterile technique.
• Maintain accurate patient documentation in PACS, RIS, and hospital systems.
• Ensure successful image transmission and documentation in imaging systems.
• Adhere to department, safety, QA, infection prevention standards.
• Assist with patient positioning, transfers, and post-procedure monitoring.
• Maintain ultrasound equipment and participate in inventory and equipment evaluation.
• Participate in on-call coverage, staff meetings, CE activities, and department initiatives.
• Support education and evaluation of students and junior staff.
• Assist with departmental operations and workflow coordination to support patient care.

Education
