Job summary

Dartmouth Health is seeking a Diagnostic Medical Sonographer to perform advanced ultrasound exams across obstetric, gynecologic, infertility, and general ultrasound. You will work with GE and Philips systems in a collaborative imaging environment and contribute to high‑quality patient care.

Ideal candidates have AMA‑approved allied health training, ARDMS certification, BCLS, and OB experience is a plus. A $20,000 sign‑on/retention bonus is offered for external hires with conditions.

Qualifications

• Graduate of accredited program for Diagnostic Medical Sonography and registry eligible required.
• Minimum one year of experience performing a wide range of general and specialty ultrasound exams preferred.
• Experience in high‑risk OB, advanced abdominal imaging, complex infertility, and guided biopsies preferred.
• Broad knowledge of cross‑sectional anatomy, pathology and/or physiological data.
• Competent in Ultrasound reporting systems.

Responsibilities

• Selects equipment, imaging modalities, position, and prep to facilitate optimal studies.
• Operates ultrasound equipment and evaluates scan quality.
• Records preliminary study results and prepares reports.
• Performs measurements and labeling.
• Communicates ultrasound findings to physician for interpretation.
• Consults with radiologist on unusual scans and re‑scanning needs.
• Maintains equipment and quality control; oversees trainees.
