Job summary

Advocate Health is seeking a part-time Ultrasound Technologist in Burlington, WI to operate ultrasound equipment for general and vascular studies, review orders and patient records, and ensure exam accuracy.

The role requires completion of training in Sonography and BLS certification, with a flexible schedule. No prior experience required; 12 months training recommended. You will document findings and communicate with physicians.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in an accredited or approved program in Sonography.
• Completion of twelve months of training in an accredited Sonography program.
• Clinical competency in abdominal, pelvic and routine vascular exams.
• Knowledge of aseptic techniques.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to prioritize, work independently and manage multiple assignments.

Responsibilities

• Competently operates ultrasound equipment to perform general and/or vascular procedures.
• Accurately differentiates between normal and pathologic findings.
• Reviews patient records and physician orders to ensure exam accuracy.
• Positions patient and selects transducer and technical factors; ensures patient comfort.
• Uses sonographic skills to identify and adapt procedures to anatomical and diagnostic information.
• Labels images with patient name and MRU number and location.
• Maintains records in radiology information system and documents billing codes.
• Identifies equipment issues and evaluates new products for future use.
• Analyzes sonograms and communicates findings to the physician.
• Provide age-appropriate care according to department policies.
