Level 3 Technicians at 2D Imaging represent the highest level of bench‑level technical mastery in the organization.

About The Job Opportunity

The Ultrasound Probe Repair Technician III is the most senior individual contributor role on the 2D Imaging repair floor. This position is for a technician with deep, demonstrated mastery across multiple 2D , 3D and 4D probe types, OEM platforms, and failure categories, including transducer array repair, acoustic relensing, board‑level component replacement, precision soldering, and TEE (transesophageal echocardiography) probe service.

The Level 3 Technician operates with full autonomy on the most technically demanding repairs, serves as the internal subject matter authority on probe mechanics and failure analysis, contributes to quality and process improvement, and plays a direct role in developing the technical capabilities of Level 1 and Level 2 staff. This role carries significant responsibility for first‑pass quality, customer‑facing repair outcomes, and the overall technical reputation of 2D Imaging's repair operation.

What You Will Bring
  • Minimum 7 years of direct, hands‑on ultrasound probe repair experience in a depot repair, OEM service, or third‑party repair environment.
  • Demonstrated mastery across multiple 2D , 3D, 4D probe types including phased array, linear, convex, and endocavitary platforms.
  • Proven ability to perform transducer array‑level diagnostics, element testing, and array replacement or repair.

  • Board‑level repair experience including component identification, removal, and replacement using precision soldering techniques on probe circuit assemblies.
  • Proficiency with fine‑pitch and coaxial soldering on probe cable and connector assemblies.
  • Direct TEE probe service experience including tip mechanism inspection, flex cable assessment, and distal seal integrity verification.
  • Experience working in an ISO 13485 or FDA‑regulated repair environment with documented quality system compliance.
  • Demonstrated ability to mentor or train less experienced technicians.
  • High school diploma required; technical degree, CBET certification, or equivalent technical credential strongly preferred.
Preferred
  • Experience across GE, Philips, Siemens, Samsung, Sonosite, Mindray, Fujifilm, and/or Toshiba/Canon 2D , 3D, 4D probe platforms.
  • Familiarity with ultrasound analyzer systems such as Sonora FirstCall, UltraIQ, or equivalent diagnostic platforms.
  • Experience contributing to CAPA processes, work instruction authorship, or ISO audit support.
  • Prior involvement in new probe platform qualification or repair protocol development.
  • CBET (Certified Biomedical Equipment Technician) or equivalent credential.
Who We Want To Meet
  • Act Like an Owner: You treat every probe that comes to your bench as if a patient's diagnostic outcome depends on it. You hold yourself and your work to the highest quality standard without being asked.
  • Serve with Purpose: You understand that the equipment you repair is used in clinical imaging environments. Every repair decision you make has a direct impact on patient care.
  • Adapt to Thrive: Complex probe failures rarely follow a script. You apply deep technical knowledge to non‑standard presentations, seek input when warranted, and continuously advance your expertise.
  • Collaborate to Win: You are a technical resource others rely on. You share what you know, build team capability, and contribute to outcomes that extend beyond your own bench.
  • Challenge the Status Quo: You recognize patterns in failure modes before others do, flag process gaps, and drive improvements through the appropriate channels rather than working around them.
Benefits & Perks
  • Competitive compensation package with salary, incentives, company ownership/equity, and comprehensive benefits (401k match, health, college debt reduction, and more!)
  • Career and professional development through training, coaching and new experiences.
  • Hybrid culture with new & beautiful workspaces that balance flexibility, collaboration, and productivity.
