Job summary

Samaritan Medical Center in Northern New York is seeking a Medical Sonography professional to join our imaging team. ARDMS registration or eligibility, BCLS certification, and a graduate of an AMA-approved Radiologic Technology or Sonography program are required.

Minimum of 1 year radiologic/imaging experience with vascular and obstetric proficiency. Strong English communication, on-call readiness, and proficiency with ultrasound equipment are essential for this role.

• Registered with the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) or Registry eligible.
• Current BCLS certification.
• Maintains all registries and licenses required by state and federal law.
• Graduation from an AMA-approved school of Radiologic Technology or Medical Sonography required.
• One year of radiologic/imaging experience.
• Specific experience and training in Medical Sonography.
• Vascular and obstetric experience required.
• Possesses knowledge and understanding of general anatomy, physiology and medical terminology.
• Ability to read and communicate effectively in English.
• Department specific training.
• Proficiency with most major Medical Sonography equipment, manufacturer's hardware and software.
• Ability to comply with on-call specifics.
• Proficient in the use of a personal computer including word processing.
• Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and written and verbal communication skills required.
• Ability to independently take initiative and exercise good judgment in decision-making.
• Ability to work efficiently and effectively under deadline pressures and to simultaneously handle multiple projects.
