Job Summary

A Sonographer is a qualified diagnostic ultrasound professional, credentialed and experienced, providing diagnostic patient care using ultrasound and related procedures. The scope includes procedures permitted by law, with education and clinical experience, and ARDMS certification(s) as the standard.

Participates in delivering patient-specific care, following service excellence standards to ensure high satisfaction.

Responsibilities
  • Assess patient tolerance and demonstrate knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and positioning.
  • Implement procedures within established protocols.
  • Recognize sonographic characteristics, optimize image quality, analyze findings, and complete comprehensive exams.
  • Perform measurements and calculations as per protocols.
  • Minimize patient exposure without compromising exam quality.
  • Ensure compliance with protocols and guidelines.
  • Document findings clearly and completely in the patient's record.
Qualifications

Education & Experience

  • Associate Degree or higher in a related technological field.
  • Graduate from an educational program in Diagnostic Medical Sonography or have at least one year of obstetrics experience.
  • Preferred: One year of experience as an MFM Sonographer.

Licenses & Certifications

  • ARDMS credentials.
  • ARDMS certification in OB within one year of hire.
  • Fetal Echocardiography (FE) certification within two years.
  • Nuchal Translucency and Nasal Bone certifications within one year.
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support within 30 days of employment.
