Job summary

Pardee UNC Health Care in North Carolina is seeking an Ultrasound Imaging Technologist to perform diagnostic sonography procedures with ultrasound equipment, ensuring high-quality imaging and patient safety.

You will prepare patients, interpret orders with radiologists, select imaging protocols, and contribute to safe, efficient imaging while precepting junior staff on a day-shift basis during onsite operations.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Five (5) years of experience in a clinical imaging role, at least three in ultrasound/sonography.
• Registration as an Ultrasound / Sonography technologist with ARDMS.
• Strong understanding of human anatomy.
• Experience reading and interpreting complex radiology orders.
• Experience with a Picture Archiving and Communications System (PACS).

Responsibilities

• Conducts sonography / ultrasound screening, ensuring both safe function of equipment and best quality imaging.
• Reads imaging orders and consults radiologist when order is unclear, complex or warrants review.
• Interviews patients to understand risk factors and prior medical history components.
• Selects appropriate scanning protocols and imaging parameters based on anatomy and equipment capabilities.
• Guides patients through examinations with subject matter expertise and cultural competency.
• Precepts entry-level staff and orients new colleagues as assigned; collaborates to plan the workday and patient flow.
