Job summary

Bryan College of Health Sciences is seeking a Diagnostic Medical Sonography professional to perform ultrasound examinations and support accurate diagnosis. You will operate equipment, prepare patients, document results, and collaborate with physicians to ensure high-quality imaging.

The role requires completion of an approved ultrasound program, ARDMS certification, and BLS; prior obstetric/abdomen experience is preferred, with emphasis on patient safety and care across ages.

Qualifications

  • Completion of an approved program in ultrasound technology.
  • ARDMS certification required.
  • One year of ultrasound experience preferred.
  • Current BLS certification.
  • CME requirements for specialties.

Responsibilities

  • Performs diagnostic ultrasound examinations according to physician orders.
  • Utilizes equipment as required for the ordered exam.
  • Provides instructions and prepares patients for ultrasound examinations.
  • Assess patient pain and contact physician if intervention is needed.
  • Maintains safe environment and minimizes medical errors.
  • Enters exam data and patient information into computer systems.
  • Moves transducer and monitors ultrasound pattern quality.
  • Ensures high-quality imaging and accurate documentation.
  • Maintains professional interactions with physicians, coworkers, patients and families.
  • Performs quality control checks and maintains QC logs.
