Job description

At Cardiovascular Specialists of New England, we are seeking a highly motivated Echo Technologist to join our team. You will provide patient care support at the practice and be responsible for the direct and indirect care of patients to ensure that the quality of the studies adheres to established standards. You will report directly to the supervising provider or his/her designee. The role offers per diem, part‑time, or full‑time schedules.

What you’ll do:

• Perform diagnostic cardiac ultrasounds
• Perform cardiac pulse and continuous wave ultrasound Doppler to identify and characterize intracardiac blood flow patterns
• Perform transesophageal cardiac ultrasound
• Perform stress echocardiography
• Apply knowledge of the equipment, standard tests and procedures, and typical readings including arrhythmias and abnormalities
• Recognize and respond to typical patient reactions and signs of distress, including lethal arrhythmias
• Understand common equipment settings and standardized procedures, troubleshoot errors and implement corrective measures
• Adjust procedures and positions to obtain accurate results with patients with complicating conditions

What you’ll need:

• Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) through American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) or Registered Cardiac Sonographer (RCS) through Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI) required
• 2 years of experience as an Echo Technician
• BLS/ACLS certification required
• Preference for candidates with both Echo and vascular experience
• Strong interpersonal skills to put patients at ease and explain procedures
• Exceptional verbal and written communication skills to interact with patients and physicians
• Attention to detail to detect abnormalities in sonograms
• Hand‑eye coordination to adjust the ultrasound transducer movements based on images
• Technical and analytical skills to troubleshoot complex diagnostic equipment
• Ability to work well under pressure, including emergency situations
• Strong teamwork and collaboration with the medical team
• Medical knowledge, including anatomy, to produce proper images
• Excellent customer‑service skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Work Location:

Providence out of the Londonderry, New Hampshire office.

Additional Information:

For full‑time roles, wages range from $55 to $70 per hour, commensurate with experience, plus medical, dental, and vision benefits and a matching 401(k) contribution. Per diem and part‑time positions are also available.
