Job summary

Central Health is seeking a Diagnostic Medical Sonographer for our Multi-Specialty ambulatory clinic in Austin, TX. The role focuses on vascular, abdomen, and small parts ultrasound, delivering high-quality images for interpretation.

You will assess patients, acquire data, and provide preliminary findings to the physician to aid diagnosis and management, while maintaining safety and patient comfort throughout procedures.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree in Ultrasound Technology or equivalent required.
• Minimum 1 year of full-time vascular/ultrasound experience in hospital or ambulatory clinic.
• Registry eligible for ARDMS (RDMS, RVT) or CCI (RVS); must pass within 1 year of hire.

Responsibilities

• Perform high-quality ultrasound procedures per exam protocol in a timely manner.
• Generate and maintain imaging quality and production according to standards.
• Educate patients about the test and assess tolerance during the exam.
• Prepare exam room and equipment following infection control and safety protocols.
• Review patient history, determine contraindications, and ensure medical necessity of studies.
• Position patients properly and adjust equipment for optimal data acquisition.
• Review images, synthesize results, and communicate preliminary findings to physician.
