Job summary

SpaceX seeks a Starlink Production Technician - Machining to support the Ultra Precision Machining team in producing micron- and sub-micron tolerance parts. The role emphasizes non-machine-operating tasks such as cleaning, testing, assembly, metrology, and inspection on precision components at production volumes.

You will work with CMMs and other metrology equipment, contribute to continuous improvement, and collaborate with engineering and leadership to enhance processes.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalency is required.
• 1+ years of professional work experience using precision tools and metrology equipment.
• Experience with quality systems and defined requirements is preferred.
• Experience with micron- or sub-micron tolerance parts and how to handle/inspect them is preferred.
• Experience in electro-mechanical manufacturing, precision manufacturing, or high-volume manufacturing is preferred.
• Experience operating CMM or other metrology equipment is preferred.
• Experience with data entry and work tracking systems and exposure to precision machining environments is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Follow defined work instructions and process controls; maintain a safe work environment.
• Maintain maximum work center uptime by identifying and reporting off-nominal issues and applying best practices.
• Perform cleaning, testing, assembly, inspection, and related support tasks on precision parts and assemblies.
• Use metrology equipment including CMMs, optical microscopes, and other precision instruments.
• Perform data entry, work tracking, and effective communication with team members and leadership.
• Provide feedback on process improvements and efficiency opportunities to engineering and leadership.
• Keep a clean and safe work environment following company guidelines.
