Job summary

Rapport International in Lincoln, Nebraska is seeking qualified interpreters for in-person assignments with local clients. This is an independent contractor, PRN position with flexible hours and on-site work.

You will support non-English speakers by providing accurate interpretation in medical or community settings. Candidates must be fully bilingual, possess excellent listening and communication skills, familiarity with medical terminology, and the ability to maintain strict confidentiality.

Qualifications

• Fully bilingual with strong listening and speaking proficiency.
• Excellent listening and communication skills in real-time interpretation.
• Familiarity with medical terminology used in healthcare settings.
• Ability to maintain strict confidentiality and HIPAA compliance.
• In-person interpretation only; reliable transportation to local appointments is required.
• Technical ability to learn and use the online portal; printing and uploading vouchers required.
• Interpreting experience and/or certification is preferred.
• Background checks and drug screens are required.
• Schedule is PRN (as needed), part time (or less depending on languages spoken); some availability Mon–Fri 7AM–5PM is typically needed.

Responsibilities

As a busy interpreting service provider, we are seeking to onboard hard-working, fully-bilingual foreign language interpreters to provide in-person interpretation for our local Nebraska clients. Requirements

• Fully bilingual
• Excellent communication and listening skills
• Familiarity with medical terminology
• Ability to maintain strict confidentiality/ HIPPA compliance
• We are looking for IN PERSON interpreters only, you must have transportation to attend appointments locally
• Technical skills for learning/using online portal (printing and uploading vouchers required)
• Must have access to a printer
• Interpreting experience and/or certification preferred
• Background checks and drug screens required
• Schedule is PRN (as needed), part time (or less depending on languages spoken) and is flexible based on interpreter's availability and preferences. However, applicants must have some availability M-F 7AM-5PM as this is when services are typically needed.

Please note, this is an independent contractor position with flexible hours. Hours are not guaranteed and are based on availability, languages spoken and client needs.
