Job summary

Airwallex, a London-based fintech, seeks an Associate Corporate Counsel to support UK growth with practical legal advice on corporate, regulatory and commercial matters. You will work with Corporate Development on fundraising and M&A, align policies with UK/EMEA requirements, and advise on marketing, partnerships, and go-to-market compliance from our London base.

Qualifications

• Qualified solicitor or barrister in England and Wales, or equivalent UK qualification.
• Proven experience in financial services and corporate law, preferably at a fintech or tech company or top law firm.
• Interest in UK and EMEA fintech regulation and payments topics.
• Deep knowledge of UK law, FCA requirements and cross-border rules for fintech/payments.

Responsibilities

• Provide pragmatic UK/EMEA legal and regulatory guidance to support responsible growth.
• Support fundraising rounds and strategic transactions, including due diligence and governance.
• Draft, review and negotiate corporate and commercial agreements with cross-functional teams.
• Coordinate with Compliance, Risk and Regulatory teams on market expansion.
• Manage external counsel on UK/EMEA matters and drive cost-effective, high-quality advice.
• Utilize templates and contract tools to improve speed and consistency of legal work.
