Job summary

ROBOTIC PROCESS AUTOMATION LLC is hiring a digital product and service designer to plan and run usability tests on web apps and Boston.gov pages, translating insights into actionable recommendations.

You will translate requirements into high-fidelity, accessible prototypes in Figma and help shape design through design system contributions and cross-team reviews. The role emphasizes user-centered design in a government-like environment with agile workflows.

Qualifications

• 3-4 years of experience in digital product and service design.
• Public sector: Experience in government or similar organizational environments.
• Technical expertise: Expert in Figma, agile workflows, and WCAG accessibility standards; proficient in Miro and other digital collaboration tools.
• Skills: Strong facilitator, systems thinker, and ability to advocate for user-centered design in complex organizations.

Job description

Plan and run usability tests for web apps and Boston.gov pages (e.g. AI Search, Boston.gov/Permitting).

Synthesize findings into recommendations and design updates.

UI design and prototyping:

• Translate requirements into high-fidelity, accessible prototypes in Figma. Work may range from rapid wireframing to production-ready UI for apps


• Review and advise on UX/ UI work being led by other teams

Design system contributions:

• Document components and contribute new patterns to the Boston Design System


• Synthesize data and research to guide decisions and translate findings into accessible, intuitive UI


• Use risks, opportunities, and constraints in technology, systems and policy to shape design


• Effectively plan and run design sessions that include senior leaders and stakeholders

Experience: 3-4 years of experience in digital product and service design
