Job summary

Plan A Technologies is seeking a UI & Visual Designer with 4+ years of production UI experience to scale approved directions across full products. The role focuses on high-fidelity UI, consistency, and a rigorous design standard for many screens.

You will build and maintain design systems, ensure responsive behaviour, and collaborate with engineers to preserve fidelity throughout handoff. A strong portfolio and excellent English communication are required.

Qualifications

• 4+ years designing production UI for web, mobile, or both.
• An exceptional portfolio focusing on typography, layout, hierarchy, color, spacing across many screens.
• Expert-level proficiency in Figma: auto-layout, components, variants, and library management.
• Experience with design systems work and responsive state design.
• Strong command of responsive design and state design.
• Knowledge of Material Design and Human Interface Guidelines (HIG).
• WCAG accessibility standards including contrast and focus states.
• Excellent verbal and written English communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Extend approved design directions across full products, from defining screens to complete surface area.
• Produce high-fidelity UI at volume while maintaining consistency, hierarchy and craft.
• Build and maintain design systems: components, variants, tokens, and documentation.
• Design edge cases, empty states, loading, permissions, and responsive behaviour across breakpoints.
• Create prototypes, micro-interactions and motion that clarify behaviour.
• Keep Figma files organised and structured for team use.
• Collaborate with developers through implementation and hold fidelity at high level.
• Flag production issues early so the Lead can resolve them.

Job OverviewPlan A Technologies is looking for a UI & Visual Designer with exceptional craft to take approved design directions and scale them across complete products. This is a specialist role, not a junior one. Where a Lead Product Designer establishes the direction and the first defining screens, you build the rest of the product to that standard: every state, every breakpoint, every edge case, at a level of consistency and polish that survives handoff to engineering. A direction is only as good as the two hundred screens that follow it, and those screens are yours. If you are the designer other designers ask about typography, spacing, and why a screen feels right, this is the role. Please note: you must have at least 4+ years designing production UI, and an exceptional visual portfolio is required to be considered. For this role, visual quality is a hard gate.

JOB RESPONSIBILITY

• Extend approved design directions across full products, taking a set of defining screens to the complete surface area.
• Produce high-fidelity UI at volume without losing consistency, hierarchy, or craft.
• Build and maintain design systems: components, variants, tokens, and the documentation that keeps them usable by other people.
• Design the parts most people skip. Empty states, error states, loading, permissions, edge cases, and responsive behaviour across breakpoints.
• Create prototypes, micro-interactions and motion that clarify behaviour rather than decorate it.
• Keep Figma files organised, named and structured so engineers and other designers can work from them without asking you questions.
• Partner with developers through implementation and hold the bar on fidelity.
• Flag where a direction breaks down in production so the Lead can resolve it before the problem spreads across the product.

Experience

• 4+ years designing production UI for web, mobile, or both.
• An exceptional portfolio. We look specifically at typography, layout, hierarchy, colour, spacing, and consistency held across a large number of screens, not at a handful of hero shots.
• Expert-level proficiency in Figma: auto-layout, components, variants, variables, and library management.
• Demonstrated design system work, ideally systems you maintained rather than only consumed.
• Strong command of responsive design and state design.
• Experience with Material Design and Human Interface Guidelines (HIG).
• Working knowledge of accessibility standards (WCAG), including contrast, focus states and touch targets.
• Speed with consistency. You can produce a high volume of screens without the twentieth one drifting from the first.
• Excellent verbal and written English communication skills.
• Initiative and drive to do great things.

NICE TO HAVE

• Motion design, whether After Effects, Rive, or Figma prototyping at depth.
• Familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite.
• Illustration or iconography.
• Gaming or casino UI experience.
