Job summary

Pure Imagination Studios is seeking an Applied AI Specialist to identify and integrate generative AI tools into creative, technical, and operational workflows. You will prototype AI-assisted solutions, collaborate across teams, and deploy AI-driven pipelines using platforms like GPT, Stable Diffusion, and Whisper.

The role requires 3–5 years in automation, scripting, or ML with hands-on experience in modern generative AI tools. A hybrid work model and supportive benefits are provided.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree or equivalent required; bachelor’s degree preferred or equivalent experience.
• 3–5 years using automation, scripting or ML tools to support workflows.
• 1–2 years hands-on with modern generative AI tools (e.g., ChatGPT, Stable Diffusion, Whisper, ElevenLabs).
• Experience designing or supporting AI-assisted pipelines for text, image, code, or media.

Responsibilities

Overview

Pure Imagination Labs' Applied AI Specialist identifies and integrates generative AI tools into creative, technical, and operational workflows across projects. Prototypes and deploys AI-assisted solutions that enhance content creation, streamline internal processes, and support simulation delivery. Collaborates with cross-functional teams to build intelligent utilities, prompt systems, and automation pipelines using platforms like GPT, Stable Diffusion, and Whisper. Evaluates emerging tools, maintains prompt libraries and scripts, and supports internal adoption through documentation, training, and workflow design. Balances innovation with practical execution to ensure AI applications add measurable value without disrupting delivery.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with cross-disciplinary teams to implement practical AI solutions for real-time experiences, production tools, and support systems.
• Integrate third-party AI services into internal pipelines - including OpenAI, Runway, ElevenLabs, and related platforms.
• Develop and maintain prompt libraries, automation scripts, and intelligent interfaces to support team productivity and creativity.
• Evaluate and document new AI tools and emerging capabilities for potential integration.
• Support ethical and responsible use of AI technologies, balancing innovation with practical and reputational risks.
• Train internal stakeholders on using AI tools effectively, including prompt design, version management, and use-case scoping.
• Translate abstract or experimental AI functionality into actionable applications grounded in team needs and production timelines.
• Partner with leadership to define and evolve AI-related strategy, standards, and governance across projects.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Basic Qualifications

• Associate's degree or equivalent from two-year college/technical school required.
• Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university is preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Minimum 3 to 5 years of experience using automation, scripting, or machine learning tools to support creative, technical, or operational workflows.
• Minimum 1 to 2 years of active hands-on work with modern generative AI tools (e.g., ChatGPT, Stable Diffusion, Whisper, ElevenLabs).
• Solid expertise in designing or supporting AI-assisted pipelines for text, image, code, or media workflows.
• Strong systems thinking and user-centered design approach; ability to evaluate, adopt, and extend commercial AI tools into real-world environments.
• Proficiency in implementing real-time production environments, creative pipelines, or simulation systems is a plus.

Additional Qualifications

• Proven ability to collaborate across disciplines, translating user needs into AI-supported solutions.
• Expertise in simulation, training, or educational game development.
• Experience working with tactile input systems, counselor tools, or physical-digital interaction models.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with internal teams, external vendors, and other stakeholders.
• Ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality and professionalism.

o Hybrid: This position has been designated as hybrid, generally contributing from the office a minimum of four days per week.

o Required Residence: This candidate must live or reside in the state of Kansas; or relocate within six (6) months of offered employment.

o Required Travel: This candidate is required to travel up to 15% for specific project installations.

The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate's geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. This position is eligible for company sponsored benefits, including medical, dental and vision insurance, 401(k), medical leave, and a variety of other perks. A bonus and incentive plan may be provided as part of the compensation package, dependent on the level and position offered.
