Job summary

Technica Corporation in Washington, D.C. is seeking a highly skilled UI/UX & Frontend Developer to design and implement intuitive interfaces supporting modernization efforts across applications.

This role blends user research, wireframing, prototyping, responsive design, and front-end implementation to translate concepts into maintainable UI components. The position requires on-site work at a government facility in Washington, D.C., with limited remote options only if approved.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of UI/UX and Frontend development experience.
• Experience in UI/UX design, prototyping tools (Figma, Adobe XD, etc.), and modern frontend development frameworks.
• Strong understanding of web accessibility, responsive design, and modern design systems.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills to collaborate with stakeholders and end users.

Responsibilities

• Develop wireframes, prototypes, user flows, and design system components to support application functionality.
• Conduct user needs research, gather feedback, and adjust UI/UX approaches accordingly.
• Create and maintain style guides, pattern libraries, and reusable design artifacts.
• Ensure adherence to 508 accessibility requirements and FBI design standards.
• Build responsive user interfaces using modern JavaScript/TypeScript, React, or related web technologies.
• Collaborate with backend developers to align UI components with API capabilities.
• Support usability testing, analyze test results, and provide design-driven recommendations.
• Provide cross-team design support for additional unit projects and modernization initiatives.

Technica Corporation is seeking highly skilled UI/UX & Frontend Developer to work across teams to design and implement intuitive user interfaces supporting modernization efforts for applications. This role blends user experience research, wireframing, prototyping, responsive design, and front-end implementation. The ideal candidate demonstrates strong design thinking, iterative visual design skills, and the ability to translate wireframes into modern, maintainable UI components.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop wireframes, prototypes, user flows, and design system components to support application functionality.
• Conduct user needs research, gather feedback, and adjust UI/UX approaches accordingly.
• Create and maintain style guides, pattern libraries, and reusable design artifacts.
• Ensure adherence to 508 accessibility requirements and FBI design standards.
• Build responsive user interfaces using modern JavaScript/TypeScript, React, or related web technologies.
• Collaborate with backend developers to align UI components with API capabilities.
• Support usability testing, analyze test results, and provide design-driven recommendations.
• Provide cross-team design support for additional unit projects and modernization initiatives.

The position would be located at a government facility in Washington, D.C. and require work to be performed onsite. Any hybrid work schedule would require customer approval. The government has established policies for on-site vs hybrid work which varies across divisions and contracts. Where allowed, remote work must be coordinated with the team lead and/or government POC, ensuring there is zero interruption with the delivery of our services.

The annual base salary range for this position is $121,000 – $148,000. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Technica considers factors such as scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/training, key skills, location, as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer.

Requirements

• Active Top-Secret with SCI and CI Poly eligibility
• Bachelor’s degree in IT Technology or related field or equivalent education and/or experience.
• 5+ years of UI/UX and Frontend development experience, or similarly related experience.
• Experience in UI/UX design, prototyping tools (Figma, Adobe XD, etc.), and modern frontend development frameworks.
• Strong understanding of web accessibility, responsive design, and modern design systems.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills to effectively collaborate with stakeholders and end users, gather feedback, present design concepts, and ensure alignment across teams.
• Ability to collaborate with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
