The successful candidate will work as a member of a government contractor team designing intuitive, user‑centric interfaces and AI‑driven applications for both unclassified and classified federal environments. The role bridges design and front‑end development, translating complex mission data into accessible, secure UI solutions while adhering to government regulatory and security protocols. The candidate will translate complex technical workflows into clean, efficient, and accessible interfaces, working closely with backend engineers, product owners, and end users to improve usability, performance, and overall user satisfaction. Work will be performed in a fast‑paced, high‑energy environment inside a government facility.

Responsibilities
  • Creating, prototyping, and coding seamless user interfaces for mission‑critical government systems that leverage AI/ML technologies, working across unclassified and classified (TS/SCI) systems.
  • Ensuring high‑security software remains intuitive, efficient, and accessible for federal stakeholders and analysts.
  • Designing and developing responsive user interfaces for web‑based applications.
  • Translating complex workflows into simple, efficient user experiences that improve usability and adoption.
  • Building and maintaining front‑end components using modern frameworks such as React or Angular.
  • Ensuring applications meet usability standards and accessibility best practices.
  • Contributing to and maintaining consistent design patterns, components, and style guides.
  • Gathering and incorporating user feedback to continuously improve interface design and functionality.
  • Collaborating with backend engineers, product teams, and stakeholders to align UI/UX with system capabilities.
  • Optimizing front‑end performance, responsiveness, and scalability.
  • Designing intuitive interactions for AI/ML features, such as predictive inputs, machine‑generated alerts, and dynamic analytics dashboards.
  • Creating interfaces that streamline complex data visualization and integrate seamlessly with AI‑driven capabilities.
  • Collaborating heavily with back‑end, data science, and AI/ML teams to ensure technical feasibility and smooth integration.
  • Working fluidly across multiple security domains (NIPRNet, SIPRNet, and JWICS or equivalent classified networks).
Qualifications
  • TS/SCI clearance with polygraph.
  • U.S. citizenship.
  • Typically requires a BS degree and 12–15 years of relevant experience, or a master’s with 10–13 years; a doctorate in a technical domain is acceptable. Experience may be exchanged for degree requirements.
  • Ability to conduct user research, stakeholder interviews, and usability testing to deeply understand the needs of defense and intelligence personnel.
  • Ability to translate user needs into functionally designed interfaces that streamline complex data visualization and integrate seamlessly with AI‑driven capabilities.
  • Ability to lead end‑to‑end design initiatives, including wireframing, storyboarding, user flows, and high‑fidelity prototypes.
  • Strong experience with front‑end technologies (JavaScript, HTML, CSS).
  • Experience with modern UI frameworks such as React or Angular.
  • Demonstrated experience designing user‑centered interfaces for complex applications.
  • Understanding of UX principles, usability, and interaction design.
  • Designing intuitive interactions for AI/ML features, such as predictive inputs, machine‑generated alerts, and dynamic analytics dashboards.
  • Collaborating heavily with back‑end, data science, and AI/ML teams to ensure technical feasibility and smooth integration.
  • Working fluidly across multiple security domains (NIPRNet, SIPRNet, and JWICS or equivalent classified networks).
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with design tools such as Figma, Sketch, or Adobe XD.
  • Experience with data visualization tools such as Grafana or similar.
  • Familiarity with REST APIs and backend integration.
  • Exposure to CI/CD pipelines and front‑end deployment workflows.
  • Experience working in Agile environments.
  • Experience designing and developing intuitive user interfaces for data‑driven GEOINT applications.
