Job summary

Mind Computing is seeking a fulltime, 100% remote UI/UX Designer to support a VA project. The role emphasizes Human Centered Design, usability, accessibility, and user experience, with a strong focus on Section 508 compliance.

The candidate should excel in user research, wireframing, prototyping, and cross-functional collaboration, ensuring accessible digital experiences and strong collaboration within an Agile environment.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Graphic Design, Interaction Design, HCI, or related field.
Portfolio demonstrating accessible web or application design work.
Strong understanding of Human Centered Design (HCD) principles.
Experience advising on Section 508 compliance and remediation.
Translate accessibility and compliance requirements into practical recommendations for team members.

Responsibilities

Collaborate with Business Analysts, developers, testers, and stakeholders to translate requirements into UI/UX solutions.
Develop research-oriented questions and use insights to inform design decisions when user access is limited.
Create wireframes, mockups, and interactive prototypes using Figma.
Serve as UI/UX accessibility SME, guiding teams on accessible design practices and Section 508 compliance.
Incorporate accessibility and compliance throughout the design process and before release.
Review accessibility findings and provide guidance to remediate issues.
Support accessibility testing, audits, and remediation efforts.
Iterate designs based on feedback within an Agile delivery environment.
Contribute to team objectives and take on additional responsibilities as needed.
