Job summary

AuraOne is seeking a remote UI Engineer reviewer to evaluate production code, reproduce candidate outputs, and write minimal failing tests. You will grade solutions for correctness, complexity, and edge-case handling, then document failures to help the modeling team target gaps.

Strong debugging, concise testing, and clear reasoning are essential. This contractor role requires reliable weekly availability and the ability to work asynchronously from within the United States.

Qualifications

• Strong day-job engineering experience—read, run, and debug unfamiliar UI code.
• Ability to write concise unit tests capturing a single failure mode.
• Familiarity with at least one testing framework (pytest, Jest, JUnit, Go test, RSpec, or equivalent).
• Clear written reasoning in review notes to convince senior engineers.

Responsibilities

• Run and reproduce candidate UI engineer outputs in a sandboxed environment.
• Grade UI engineer solutions for correctness, complexity, idiomatic style, and edge-case handling.
• Write minimal failing tests that demonstrate bugs.
• Compare paired solutions and rank them with written rationale tied to a rubric.
• Tag failure modes (compile error, runtime crash, off-by-one, security issue) with severity scores.
• Document recurring code-generation failures for the modeling team.
• Calibrate against gold-standard reviews to maintain inter-rater agreement.
