Job summary

The South Carolina Department of Employment and Workforce (DEW) seeks an experienced Unemployment Insurance Operations Assistant Director to lead Benefits, Employer Tax Services (ETS), and RESEA operations, guiding staff across state UI hubs.

You will oversee claimant and employer customer service, fact-finding and claims adjudication, and ensure compliance with laws while coordinating performance metrics and staff development.

Qualifications

• Requires a bachelor's degree and five years of program management or project management experience.
• Three years of administrative or supervisory experience.
• Knowledge of state and federal laws related to UI programs and Dept. of Labor standards.

Responsibilities

• Oversee recruiting, hiring, and development of Benefits, ETS Operations, and RESEA staff.
• Ensure UI hub centers are trained on current UI policies and procedures.
• Monitor and evaluate staff performance to meet goals.
• Ensure programs are consistent with state and federal laws and DEW objectives.
• Provide coaching and feedback on activities and performance.
• Ensure clear, accurate communications with claimants and employers.
