Job summary

Garmin is seeking a full-time User Interface Designer 1 at its U.S. headquarters in the Greater Kansas City area. The role focuses on creating compelling UI experiences and delivering design solutions across Garmin products.

The ideal candidate will design, prototype, and curate assets, collaborate with UX and software teams, and help maintain brand continuity through thoughtful UI decisions. Strong typography and interaction design skills are essential.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Associate degree with required experience.
  • GPA of 3.0+ as a general guideline.
  • Proficient in imaging formats, color theory, typography, and animation.
  • Understanding of designing for interactive on-screen interfaces.
  • Strong written and verbal communication; able to work independently.

Responsibilities

  • Conceptualize, design, and prototype original UI for new features.
  • Develop unique UI design language aligned with existing design systems.
  • Curate original design assets and ensure brand continuity.
  • Collaborate with UX and Software teams to negotiate tradeoffs.
  • Present original UI concepts to Creative Lead and lead designer.
  • Manage projects with minimal supervision and direction.
  • Maintain visual consistency across Garmin product lines.
  • Stay current on traditional graphics and new design tools.
