Job description

The Role

Pomegranate is looking for a talented, thoughtful, detail-oriented UI Designer to join our design team. You'll be helping to craft beautiful, emotionally resonant digital experiences.

Your week-to-week will primarily involve designing websites and experiences for new and existing clients. You'll also dip into a bit of pure graphic design work throughout the week: usually marketing material for a few of our long-term clients, shared across the team to keep our visual instincts sharp. On top of that, you'll help to run both internal and external workshops to clarify direction, explore ideas, or unblock the work.

What Makes Design at Pomegranate Different

At Pomegranate, we believe in design. Design is not just how things look - it's how they work, feel, and function as a whole. We intentionally weave behavioural science and research into our design work to maximise its potential.

This is your opportunity to join a design team whose creative processes are deliberately structured to maximise creativity through carefully designed methods, collaboration, transparent thinking and a culture of honest critique. You'll be encouraged to ask big questions, push your craft, and take real ownership of the work.

At Pomegranate, we also believe that both design and development are symbiotic.

You will have the opportunity to work with a team of talented developers who understand the craft of design. Inversely, you as a member of the design team will learn to understand the developed environment so that your designs create the maximum impact when shipped.

Our Ideal Candidate

Our ideal candidate will have::

  • A strong portfolio of work that not just looks great, but demonstrates understanding of the why behind your designs,
  • A number of years of experience in web design specifically,
  • Deep fluency in Figma, from component libraries, to prototyping, styles, variables and team workflows.
  • Excellent written and spoken English, with an emphasis on writing with clarity,
  • The ability to work autonomously to tight deadlines and prioritise tasks effectively,
  • Experience working closely with developers and building design systems that translate cleanly to code,
  • A grounded, collaborative mindset. It's important that you care about doing good work with your team,
  • Experience running design workshops either internally or externally,
  • Will be London-based or is willing to commute into London ad-hoc for internal collaboration days, client presentations, and team in-office days,
  • A great sense of design restraint, rhythm and balance.
Your Responsibilities

Your Responsibilities Will Include

  • Ensuring that all creative production is of the highest quality,
  • Effective communication of design ideas and rationale both verbally and visually to a variety of internal and external stakeholder profiles
  • Contribute to a team culture of collaboration, idea sharing, and learning,
  • Proactively communication with our project managers to ensure that both management of the agency and our clients are kept informed and in step,
  • Maintain strong working relationships with team members and our clients,
  • Accountability for the creation and delivery of your design work from conception through to production. This will involve researching, brainstorming and creating concepts through collaboration from the initial brief or pitch to final sign-off.
What Pomegranate Can Offer You
  • Salary of £40-50K, dependant on experience,
  • Profit Share Scheme
  • Starting holiday allowance of 23 days annual leave + bank holidays, with increasing allowance connected to length of service,
  • Boutique agency environment, small team, working directly with senior management,
