Job summary

AAR Corp in the United States seeks an avionics technician responsible for inspecting, testing, adjusting, and repairing avionics systems installed in aircraft, using hand tools and test equipment. The role includes hands-on maintenance, wiring harness fabrication, and in-flight adjustment support.

The candidate must have a strong background in blueprint reading, 8+ years of experience, and a security clearance. On-site work with a comprehensive benefits package is offered.

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Graduate of a 2 year electronics-avionics technical school or equivalent military experience.
  • FFCC License with Element 3 or FAA A and P License.
  • Minimum 8 years of experience in aircraft installation, inspection, maintenance and repair.
  • Must have experience with working from blueprint drawings, diagram, specifications, service manuals, sketches and other data.
  • CMF 15 aviation MOS series or another military-commercial equivalent.
  • Position requires a U.S. Department of State Security clearance.
  • UH-1H II experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Inspect avionics components for defects and accuracy of assembly and installation.
  • Test avionics equipment under simulated or actual operating conditions to determine performance and airworthiness.
  • Adjust, repair, or replace defective components per blueprints and manuals.
  • Calibrates installed or repaired equipment to prescribed specifications.
  • Accompany flight crew to perform in-flight adjustments and post-flight repairs.
  • Comply with FAR inspections (91.411/91.413) as required.
  • Operate ground station for air-to-station checks and fabricate wiring harnesses.

2 year electronics-avionics technical school or equivalent military experience
