Job Summary

The UGE Lineman performs work related to the construction and maintenance of underground power lines from plant/station to meter base and related facilities for electricity distribution. This role supports the Line team and collaborates with personnel from various departments.

Responsibilities

1. Drive truck to jobsite and maintain truck stock.
2. Provide services for construction, operation, and maintenance of electrical distribution systems.
3. Perform switching procedures to isolate and insulate, splice, and terminate underground power lines safely.
4. Set and work on underground transformers and devices.
5. Phase, mark, and tag underground equipment properly.
6. Connect, disconnect, install, remove, move, and transfer electrical devices on customer facilities.
7. Stay updated on records, reports, and related information.
8. Investigate consumer complaints and repair energized distribution lines.
9. Ensure safety and proper handling of personnel, vehicles, and equipment.
10. Report accidents/incidents immediately and cooperate in investigations.
11. Set a safe example for less experienced employees.
12. Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Minimum

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 3 years of experience.
• Valid driver's license.

Preferred

• 5+ years of experience.
• OSHA 10 Certification.

Physical Demands and Work Environment

This role operates in a field environment requiring extended bending, squatting, climbing, kneeling, pushing, pulling, lifting (up to 50 pounds), standing, and twisting. Work is often in extreme weather conditions. Vision must be clear at various distances, with good hand-eye coordination and color discrimination.
