Job Summary

The UGE Lineman is responsible for constructing and maintaining underground power lines from plant/station to meter base and auxiliary facilities for electricity distribution. This role supports the Line team and collaborates with other departments.

Responsibilities

1. Drive truck to jobsite and maintain truck stock.
2. Provide services for the construction, operation, and maintenance of electrical distribution systems.
3. Perform switching procedures to isolate and insulate, splice, and terminate underground power lines safely.
4. Set and work on underground transformers and devices.
5. Properly phase, mark, and tag underground equipment.
6. Connect, disconnect, install, remove, and transfer electrical devices on customer facilities.
7. Keep records, reports, and related information updated.
8. Investigate consumer complaints and repair energized lines.
9. Ensure safety and proper handling of personnel, vehicles, and equipment.
10. Report accidents/incidents immediately and cooperate in investigations.
11. Set a good example by following and teaching safe practices.
12. Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Minimum

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 3 years of experience.
• Valid driver’s license.

Preferred

• 5+ years of experience.
• OSHA 10 Certification.

Physical Demands and Work Environment

This role is field-based, requiring extended bending, squatting, climbing, and working in various weather conditions. Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds, have good vision, hand-eye coordination, and color recognition.
