Job Summary

The UGE Laborer/Groundman is responsible for preparing and cleaning construction sites, loading/unloading materials, operating equipment, and assisting craft workers. This role supports the Construction team within the department.

Responsibilities

• Clean and prepare the construction site, removing debris and hazards.
• Assist tradesmen with their tasks.
• Identify utilities and monitor dig crews to prevent utility hits.
• Maintain and clean equipment.
• Restock trucks with supplies to ensure crews have necessary tools.

Qualifications

Minimum

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Valid driver's license.

Preferred

• 1 year of experience.
• CDL Class A driver's license.

Physical Demands and Work Environment

This role operates in a field environment requiring extended periods of bending, squatting, climbing, kneeling, pushing, pulling, lifting (up to 50 pounds), standing, and twisting, often in extreme weather conditions. Vision clarity, hand-eye coordination, and color identification are necessary.
