Job summary

Sibanye-Stillwater seeks an Underground Miner (UG Miner 1 or 2) at East Boulder Mine in McLeod, MT. You will perform drilling, blasting, mucking and bolting, operate underground equipment, and uphold safe work practices during day and night shifts in a rotating schedule.

You must meet Safe Explosives Act qualifications and have 5–7 years of underground hard rock mining experience, plus knowledge of utilities, ventilation and related systems.

• 5 to 7 years of Underground Hard Rock Mining Experience
• Working knowledge of utilities, services, and ventilation including installation, use, and salvage of systems.

Responsibilities

• Maintain safe work practices and safe operation of equipment.
• Perform drilling, blasting, mucking and bolting with proper explosive use.
• Operate underground equipment and support development and production tasks.
• Ensure ore delivery to the concentrator and uphold team safety.

UG Miner 1 or 2

Location:

East Boulder Mine - McCleod, MT

Schedule:

Rotating - 5x4x4x5 or 7x7

Day Shift: 7:00am - 6:30pm

Night Shift: 7:00pm - 6:30am

Job Responsibilities and Duties:

• Takes ownership in and accountable to maintaining safe work practices, safe workplaces, and safe operation and maintenance of equipment.
• Performs drilling, blasting, mucking, and bolting duties. Determines the amount of explosives, placement, and firing of explosives with the ability to minimize overbreak and dilution.
• Operates underground equipment (jumbos, loaders, bolters, jacklegs, CMAC DHS bolters, trucks, and Slusher).
• Performs other duties as assigned from time to time at the discretion of the company.
• Maintain line & grade for development ramps and drifts.
• Takes ownership in muck handling to eliminate muck mixing and ensure delivery of quality ore to the concentrator.
• Work as an essential member of a production or development team.
