Join Mob Entertainment as a Verse Expert in a remote position, where you will create innovative systems for Fortnite using Unreal Editor. Mob Entertainmentis a startup multimedia studio that is best known for our hit indie horror game "Poppy Playtime". This franchise is one of the hottest new properties in gaming, and our team is naturally expanding as our ambition expands. To give a taste of our brand's popularity, more than 100 billion YouTube views of Poppy Playtime related content have occured since the game's launch 4 years ago.
Come be part of a new team at Mob Entertainment, where we are cultivating the best talent in games to push the boundaries of user-generated content (UGC) in Fortnite. You will report directly to the UEFN Team Lead and the Director of Technology, becoming our internal Verse expert and working with our game development partners to produce a library of features, systems, and widgets our developers can use to create games.
Responsibilities:
Create portable systems and features with Unreal Editor for Fortnite (UEFN).
Implement, support, and maintain your work across our games portfolio.
Write documentation to assist devs who use your systems and features.
Be the Verse expert, following new developments, best practices, etc.
About the Team:
The Mob Entertainment game team is responsible for all game projects, including with internal and external teams. On the UEFN Team, our goal is to create innovative and long-lasting games within the Fortnite ecosystem, learning along the way and bringing joy to players across the globe.
You will join our group and work within a multidisciplinary team of developers, publishers, leaders, content creators, and more. This is a contract remote position.
What would make you a great candidate:
Education: Computer Science degree, related field or equivalent working experience, or self-taught with shipped titles we can review.
Knowledge: Familiarity with Verse, Python, or similar scripting languages.
Experience: Developed games with UEFN, Unreal Engine.
Mindset: You thrive at solving hard problems on your own, using a methodical approach.
Passion: You love writing code and are passionate about building games in a UGC ecosystem.
Personality: You are empathetic, assume good intention and tone, explain your thinking, ask questions and seek to understand perspectives, focus on the subject and not the person, and understand how to agree to disagree with respect for your team and its goals.
Fortnite: We are making games for Fortnite players, so hopefully you love the game and its many ecosystems (Battle Royale, LEGO, Rocket Racing, Festival, and more to come).
