JOB SUMMARY
Under the general supervision of the Regional Nurse Coordinator, this position provides professional nursing and health services to the UConn Avery Point campus. As a college health nurse, this registered nurse will be responsible for providing patient focused advice and education, by supporting the maintenance and improvement of the health of students, identifying, and assisting in removing or modifying health related barriers, and supporting early detection and early intervention strategies. Collaborates with other providers to enable the student to attain and maintain health. Refers students to other internal or community-based resources as appropriate. Maintains electronic medical records and ensures compliance with state laws and regulations, as well as SHaW policies and procedures, and program protocols. May include nursing assessments, examinations, and treatment on the Storrs campus.

APPOINTMENT TERMS
This is an in person permanent 9-month position (35 hours weekly) from mid-August through mid-May annually. This position will primarily be supporting the Avery Point campus including a secondary campus. Occasional travel to other regional campuses is required. This opening is for a primarily day position with a flex schedule which may include an occasional weekend day. Candidate must be willing to extend into the evening hours on occasion to meet the needs of the service/population. Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. A requirement to be present on the Storrs campus for a period for orientation may be required.
